Creating Shapes

Shapes are created three ways.

1.  By an enclosed line. This is a line that goes around and comes back to touch.

2.  With an area of color.

3.  With an area of texture.

Use shapes that represent the character of your poster topic or theme.

For instance, organic shapes of texture can show "warmth", friendliness, and caring. Think of the texture of a teddy bear or the feel of your favorite blanket when you were little.

On the other hand, geometric shapes of color, like number 2 above, can seem cold, distant, and unfriendly.
